From a very young age, I knew I had a profound purpose to help and encourage others when they need it most. It was only a few years ago that I learned, that my name (Monique) means advisor/counsellor. It was then that I realized that not only is it a passion, but it is inscribed in me as a person to counsel and advise others where possible. Everyone has experienced some form of hardship or difficulty at a given point in their life, and I believe that one should never be ashamed to seek help. My goal is to create a safe space for my clients to freely express themselves without feeling judged or criticized. Respecting each client for the person they are and what they believe is something I take to heart. Each day my need to make a difference in the lives of others keeps on growing.
I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Midrand Graduate Institute, earned in 2016. I completed a play therapy course in 2018 and Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) in 2019 to enhance my personal development. Since obtaining a Psychology Degree, I worked in various settings, and it allowed me to broaden my experience. These settings include:
